A storm gathers over the Bernese Oberland as light turns amber and the peaks of the Eiger disappear into cloud. On the alpine meadow below, a weathered wooden structure leans into the hillside beside a solitary white farmhouse — two buildings, centuries apart in age, both dwarfed by what's coming. Captured at Kleine Scheidegg, the legendary mountain pass between the Eiger and Lauberhorn peaks in Switzerland, this image was digitally processed to heighten its inherent drama — deepening the shadows, warming the storm light, pushing the scene toward the painterly.
